How To Get Free Data On Iphone
As you probably already know, cell phone mobile data doesn't come cheap.
And in today's technological era, everything runs on data, from watching Netflix movies to your favorite Youtubers. It's not hard to eat up a gigabyte of data in less than an hour.
Now, I already wrote about the many ways you can get the Internet for free, but in this post, I wanted to write about the 100% legitimate ways to get your mobile data for free with NO strings attached.
But before I get started, do keep in mind that while some of these options are, indeed, free, you will still be limited as to how much data you can truly use.
Regardless, these are some services you may want to try out to get your mobile data for free.
How to Get Free Mobile Data
FreedomPop
FreedomPop has been around for quite some time and offers 100% free mobile phone data and even high-speed internet services. Yes, it is 100% free and is not spammy in any way, I can assure you that much.
First, to see if you can take advantage of free mobile data, the company first wants you to see if your location qualifies by inputting your zip code and street address.
And if you qualify, you can select from a variety of free service options, including free mobile phone data, "on the go" internet or even 4G LTE data.
There are no contracts, no commitment and you can cancel at any time, so even if you're hesitant, you can test it out for a month to see if it works for you.
Now, here's how it would workifyou were interested in free mobile data.
For one, you can purchase a phone directly from FreedomPop, which can cost anywhere from $79 for an Android-based phone to more than $369 for an iPhone. This would all depend on which phone you want to buy, just as if you were purchasing one in store.
Once you buy the phone, you can then choose one of the plans I note below, but do keep in mind that a phone is not necessary to use the service.
If you don't want to buy a phone, that's okay as well because you can choose a sim card, butif you do choose this option you MUST have an unlocked GSM AT&T or T-Mobile phone. A sim card is free, but there can be a cost. I will talk about this next.
In the case of LTE data for a wireless internet sim card, the company does state that it's compatible with most unlocked GSM phones, tablets and hotspots. This essentially acts as a wireless Internet router.
Now, I already know what you're thinking…
This is TOO good to be true and in asense, it kind of is, but you can get free mobile data, but you need to know the restrictions.
For the sim cards, if you inserted the said sim card into your phone, you need to choose from a variety of plans to start using the data:
- 200 MB of data, 200 minutes and 500 texts: FREE
- 2GB LTE data, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts: $24.99/mo (free trial for the first month)
- 3GB LTE data, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts: $29.99/mo
As you can see, if you did not use more than 200 megabytes of data for the month, you could get the data for 100% free, butif you went over that 200 megabytes, then the company would charge an additional 2¢/MB for Premium plans or 2.5¢/MB for the Free plan, so you would have to be careful with your usage.
A credit card is required on file, but again, if you can stay under 200 megabytes, you're receiving free data and even some texts and minutes for 100% free from a very reputable company.
Out of all options, FreedomPop, by far, is the best option. It's a reputable company, they offer good service and they have pretty good reviews online.

Swagbucks
If you haven't heard of Swagbucks before, let me explain how it works really quick.
In short, Swagbucks will pay you to answer surveys, watch videos, answer questions, search the web and even shop. Basically, you're going to perform tasks in order to get what's known as "Swagbucks."
And these tasks are quite easy, I promise.
To me, this is a fantastic option for those who don't want to pay for their data or are limited on funds but don't mind investing a few minutes to earn 100+ megabytes of data if you already have a prepaid cell phone plan from AT&T or Verizon.
And if you stick it out and sign in daily, it's not unheard of to earn $30, $40 or even $50+ per month in rewards, sometimes much more.
Now, once you earn these Swagbucks, you can then cash out for a TON of gift card/cash options, including free data for your phone.
For example, if you're on a Verizon prepaid plan, Swagbucks lets you add 100 megabytes to your Verizon account for 200 SB, which is the equivalent to about $2 worth of work.
And to earn this 200 SB, I would only have to answer about two surveys on average, all of which would take me less than a half hour easy.
If you don't believe me, here's a screenshot of my dashboard at the time I was writing this:
As you can see, if I completed both of those, it was an easy 225 SB, enough for 100 megabytes in data.
Aside from Verizon, Swagbucks also offers AT&T Mobile rewards in 100 and 500 MB increments as well, as noted below:
Signing up is 100% free and no credit card is needed to join, I promise.
To sign up, visit Swagbucks.com and if you're lucky enough, they often offer up to a $10 bonus!

CellNUVO
CellNUVO is kind of new to the market and has high remarks, at least from what I read.
If you truly want your cell phone service to cost $0, and I promise it's not a scam, then CellNUVO is one to consider, and here's how it works:
First, you're going to want to install the app and register an account. This entire process is 100% free.
Then, once you're logged in, you can now swipe away with the company's games and earn what's known as Silver, which you can then use the credits to pay your current cell phone bill.
Most of the time, you're swiping and watching ads, all while earning the Silver.
The app also lets you play what's known as the "Split-The-Pot" game up to 20 times a day and the Number-Match game unlimited times a day.
CellNUVO works with almost all major providers, including AT&T, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, Total Wireless, Verizon and so much more.
If you do want to sign up, consider using my referral code — 403b357e— to get started.

Kickbit
As a disclaimer, Kickbit ONLY works on Verizon prepaid cell phone plans, so if you're not part of a Verizon plan, then you may want to skip this one.
With the Kickbit app, you can earn free mobile data by watching videos, taking surveys, testing free trials or even shopping, much like Swagbucks, Inbox Dollars and SurveyJunkie, to name a few.
Once you download the free app, create a free account and then tap on the "Earn Data" tab on your dashboard to view and complete any offers for free data.
After you complete an offer successfully, the mobile data is then applied to your Kickbit account, usually within 24 hours, and can then be used for future use.
Even if you're not a Verizon prepaid phone customer right now, you may want to consider solely based on the fact that they offer this option.
Verizon prepaid plans start at $30 and could offer a ton of value, especially if you use this app.
It's not the best prepaid cell phone plan, but it does offer one of the better networks for reliability.

databack App
The Data Recharge & Data Saver 4G app, via the Google Play store, can help you save up to one gigabyte in data every month since the app was designed in a way to help save your 2G, 3G and 4G data. You can also earn data that won't count against your provider's total. This is one of the many apps for free data.
To use the app and essentially receive free data, here's how it works…
First, you will need to install the app from the Google Play store.
It's free and takes seconds to do, just like many of the other apps on the store.
Then, once downloaded, you can use the app to check out how much data you spent for the day, and for all of the data you save because of the app, databack allows you to convert the savings into free data.
Aside from converting your saved data into free data, you can also spin the wheel daily to see if you can win even more.
The app is 100% free and is a nice way to earn free data packs, up to one gigabyte per month if active.

mCent Browser
The free mCent Browser app lets you earn free minutes and data toward your phone plan every month just for browsing the internet.
As a disclaimer, I have read some people earn more than two gigabytes a month if you're an active user — not bad! Your results will vary, however.
To use, you download the app and use the browser no differently than you would with Google Chrome, Opera, etc.
But in doing so, the app rewards you with data points the more you use the browser.
Whether you're searching Google, reading the news or visiting your favorite website like this one (right?), you can earn free data in doing so.
Again, the app is 100% free to use and has more than 621,000 reviews on the Google Play store.
If you're already using a browser, you might as well be rewarded with free data, right?

WiFi Finder
Honestly, no matter where you live, there's going to be a free public WiFi spot available nearby, allowing you to use as much data as you want without having to worry about an overcharge.
Whether it's McDonald's, Kohl's, Walmart or some Mom and Pop coffee shop, there are hundreds of thousands of WiFi spots that you can tap into right now so that you don't have to use your mobile data.
But, the problem is finding these WiFi spots.
This is where the free WiFi Map app comes in.
Yes, while this isn't necessarily free data per se, the WiFi Map app allows you to find the nearest WiFi spots that won't cost you a dime.
And to date, users have added more than 100 million FREE WiFi spots.
Simply open the app, search your surroundings and find a hot spot of interest. In my opinion, it can be a pinch of a pain, but this is, by far, the easiest way to get free data without having to worry about doing any of the work mentioned above.
That way, whenever you on the go, you can check in and surf as you normally would without having to worry about going over your limits.
Aside from the highly-rated WiFi Finder app (over 675,000 reviews), there a variety of others you could consider downloading for free as well, including:
- Instabridge – Free WiFi Passwords and Hotspots
Final Thoughts
As you can see, there are a variety of ways to earn free data, and while some may take a pinch of effort on your part, 100 to 200 megabytes in free data is 110% possible.
Now, if you're looking for unlimited data, I just hate to break it to you that it probably isn't possible unless you tap into a WiFi hotspot, so if you do see anyone claiming such online, be forewarned as it more than likely is a scam.
The same goes for those free data YouTube videos. ALL SCAMS!
I'm sorry, but you will not be able to download a VPN client and get free cell service, nor will you be able to hack your Android phone. I can promise you that one million percent.
Again, 100 to 200 megabytes for freeispossible, but anything else should raise red flags.
For me, I would highly consider the FreedomPop route for the easy 200 megabytes or even Swagbucks if you don't mind investing a few minutes of your time to earn some data for your Verizon or AT&T prepaid plan.
But if you don't want to work for it or even have your credit card on file, that's fine as well because free WiFi spots can be just as good.
In the meantime, if you know of any LEGAL ways to get free mobile data, do let me know as I would love to hear about it!
